Hong Kong protesters staged a sit-in at a shopping mall in the Sha Tin district of the territory on Sunday, where they sang the US national anthem together.

Organisers called on people to assemble simultaneously in 18 different districts, which was in an effort to divide up police resources.

The protestors ask for broader demands including electoral reforms and an inquiry into alleged police abuse.
